My boyfriend has a truck

I never thought I would be here. I never thought I was going to be “that girl”, the one that goes tail gating and goes to football games and, you know, drinks beer. Plans change; I met Max in the fall of last year, and it has been bliss ever since. It was funny how we met; we literally ran into each other on the street. We were both out with our friends for the night and I was tottering on these hot four inch heels that I had just bought and would have been fine except the street was wicked uneven. He knocked into me and almost broke my ankle, so I guess you could say he literally swept me off my feet.

Anyway, I’m totally in love with him, and he’s such a big “guys’ guy” that I find myself enjoying the time we spend together, even if it’s watching sports (I’ve grown to love baseball) or even (gasp!) drinking beer. Despite the fact that I will always love him more than his Toyota Tundra parts, I’m beginning to realize that when you love someone, you kind of have to love all of them, no matter what that means. So I’m ok with a truck as long as he’s the one driving it!

Dog boxes for the pet afficianado

Volunteer work makes up a large part of my life. In the small town where I live, there is always something to do that can make a big difference to a number of special people. When I have the chance to do something large or small, I’ll go out of my way to make it happen.

During a recent trip to the mall, I came across the local chapter of the SPCA where they had dog pens set up and were attempting to adopt out a number of cute canines. As I was poking around, I was greeted by a great old friend I’d not seen in years. She was in the process of off loading dog boxes from her SUV, so I gave her a hand.

As we caught up on things, she let me know how much of her life she’s dedicated to volunteering to make the dog’s lives better. I applauded her for her efforts and let her know about some of my own works.

In the end, we set a date to have lunch and vowed not to get so distant in the future. With a smile on my face, I set off to the auto parts section in search of a couple of auto accessories that I hoped they would have in stock.

Possession and Suspension Problems

Hi everyone, hope all is well. I’ve been having a few problems with my Lancer as well as my girlfriends Forenza. On the Lancer, every time I go over a speed bump the thing squeaks like a cage full of mice! This car is only about two years old, so I don’t see how it could be the suspension. I’m not really a car guy, so who knows? Any ideas? If I could find Mitsubishi parts cheap enough I would see if a friend could fix whatever is wrong with it. Mechanics are way too expensive.

Now the Forenza has some real problems. Every once and awhile when I turn the car on all of the lights turn on and off a few times for no reason! I said it was possessed, but a friend of mine said it’s more than likely a short in the electrical system. If that’s the case, a dealership is going to charge up the wahzoo to fix it. Finding and buying Suzuki parts from a Suzuki dealer at this point is kind of mute. Should I just pick the car and get a new one or is it worth it to save and fix? Is this going to cost me more than the one time fix or should it be good after that?

I’m really at a loss on this one guys. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Plain Jane Truck

I have a friend who just bought a really nice brand spanking new truck, but he refuses to do anything cool to it. Despite all the hints that me and all of our other friends have given him, he won’t add on any cool truck parts and accessories. I mean really, how boring is a stock pick up truck? I think that it is a lot like getting a Christmas tree, and then not decorating it!

At the very least he should go out and get a nice set of nerf bars. You have maybe seen the things that I’m talking about. I think some people might call them step bars. They are the tubes that go along the bottom of the cab below the doors that you use as steps to help you get in and out of the truck.

Of course if it were my truck, I would be going crazy on the darn thing. I’d start out with a lift kit that would jack it up like another foot into the air (not necessarily into outer space, but a lot higher), and I’d add those big swamp style tires. Then some really loud headers and a cool looking exhaust. Oh and let’s not forget about throwing in maybe 100 of those cool auto meter gauges!

I Hated My Ex’s Diesel Truck

I am on good terms with my ex but I have to say that there are a lot of things that I really don’t miss about living with him. His diesel truck is one of those things. I hated everything about that truck even though I could sort of understand the reason that he wanted a diesel-based vehicle.

I hated the amount of money that he would spend on getting new diesel performance parts like his diesel exhaust system and the air intake thingy that he got and the new gauges that he said he needed which didn’t even seem like they had anything to do with the diesel part of the vehicle. He claimed that these things made him ultimately spend less money on gas but I still hated it.

For that matter, I hated when I would have to go fill up the gas tank for the truck because I would be out and about doing errands in it (not that he let me drive “his baby” all that often anyway). I could never remember to get the right gas or else I couldn’t find a gas station that had it. These days, I have my own little car that uses cheap gas and I don’t have to deal with my ex when it comes to driving it!
