As a result, I’ve been thinking a lot about what kinds of cars are good for moms — particularly older moms.  I want the kind of car that she can just put gas in and drive.  The more reliable and the fewer problems, the better.

Here are a few ideas I’ve come up with.  These are mostly from my experience of what cars tend to last the longest and have the fewest problems:

• Toyota Camry – Her little Camry has been an amazing car.  I’d totally support her getting another.
• Toyota Corolla – Just a smaller version of the car she has now, really, and another vehicle that is known to be reliable over the long haul.
• Honda Civic – These are popular cars that are known for going 250 thousand-plus miles.  Work on a Honda can sometimes be a little expensive, but on the bright side, they don’t seem to need much work if you take care of them.
• Honda Accord – A slightly bigger, faster version of the Civic.

I’m sure there are others that would make great cars for an aging mother, but these are the ones that come to mind.  I think they are great cars that tend not to need a lot of work, other than the scheduled maintenance.  Just make sure you always install dealer parts — genuine Toyota parts, genuine Honda parts, etc. — and they will virtually run forever.

Anyway, I need to get a tool box that will fit with my Ford F-150. It also needs to be big enough to hold all of my tools. Now, that seems like common sense for something called a tool box, but I have more tools than most people. I need an extra large tool box to fit all my gear. And I also need one that’s secure. The last thing I need is for my tools to get stolen.

It also needs to fit properly over my after market truck bed liner. The last tool box I got had a tough time fitting over the bed line because it was designed to fit over a bare bed.

I’m pretty excited to give it a shot. Granted, I’ve never written about genuine Toyota parts, but I’m more than willing to give it a shot. Honestly, I never really know too much about the subjects I write about. That’s the point of research.

Basically, I’m going to be writing sales copy and general product descriptions for their catalog. I’ve done a few catalogs before, so I’m familiar with the basic style and format. The only thing is that writing an entire catalog can be pretty tedious, but you just have to divide the work up over time so you don’t overwhelm yourself.

I don’t get started writing the catalog until next week, but I’m going to start my planning this week. Do any of you have good suggestions for required reading on Toyota automobile parts? Drop some links in the replies, and I’ll start reading them. Maybe once I finish with the catalog, I can upload some finished samples on here. Well, off to work!

For example, Aptera Motors is putting out a really cool new car that’s an all-electric three-wheel car. Think about that for a minute. The car is all-electric but can operate just fine on the highway. And it’s got only three wheels so it’s totally unique in design. In fact, there is some debate as to whether this should be classified as a car or a motorcycle.

A more mainstream example of a cool new car is the Honda FCX Clarity. This car looks a lot like the average Honda that you’ll see driving down the street. However, it incorporates innovative hydrogen fuel cell technology that makes the inner workings of the car completely different from what you’re used to dealing with. With automotive technology changing rapidly, we are really seeing some cool new cars hit the streets.
